| Keikhosro Pournazeri
(Ali Nazeri) He was born in 1953 in Kermanshah. Parviz Pournazeri, his father entitled as Haaji Khan Nazeri was one of the noble men of the city and excellent students of colonel Vaziri and Darvish Khan. His mother was the first lady establishing the national high school for girls. Training and develpoing under such atmosphere, impressions were deep down settled in his thoughts and music style. Keikhosro learnt music alphabet and orders from his father, using the instructor's records at the time he developed his knowledge and skill so that he came to a unique stage in playing Taar. In 1969 he entered Tehran Technology Institue in the field of civil engineering but due the great distance between engineering and music he gave up in two years and started as an expert in music and culture. Later became supervisor in music and culture orchesta and beside of became supervisor in music and culture orchesta and beside of tradational music spent time on collecting and arranging Kurdish music. In 1975 he entered the fine art university in the field of music and exercised under Nour AliKhan Broumand's supervision. After revolution and due to limitations in music a new term was set in motion in his music. He became familiar with Tanbour and set to restore the instrument and music. Before his efforts Tanbour was only played by Kuridish people named as God disciples for their religious music in far-off places. Forming Shams Group, composing music for Tanbour was based on cultural principles and noble and traditional nature paved the path to introduce music to Eastern music fans. He can be truly called the Father of Tanbour. "Sound of love word", "Moonlight face" , "Tanbour's Legend" , "Amazment" , "Kermanshahan" , "Inebriated" and etc. can be mentioned as his albums. Beside of composing and playing Keikhosro Pournazeri has brought in many students to Iranian art society. Setting up the Tanbour Shams music institute, he has been following his aims in developing music. |
